Steam's Big Demo Week + A Classic Throwback Beta
Alright gamers, Steam Next Fest is coming October 13-20 and if you're not hyped, you're doing it wrong. We're talking HUNDREDS of free demos, dev streams all day, and basically a week where your wishlist explodes. Mark your calendars because this is like Christmas for PC gamers.
The official Steam hub is gonna be your best friend next week. Last year I found like 15 indies that became instant buys, no cap. My Twitter feed is already getting spammed with devs teasing their demos and honestly? I'm here for it.
Real talk - the Reddit threads during Next Fest are absolute gold. Everyone's dropping their hidden gems, speedrunning demos, arguing about which roguelike is gonna be the next Hades. It's beautiful chaos.
But wait, there's MORE! Team Fortress 2 Classic is dropping its open beta during Next Fest. Bro, this is the TF2 we remember before it became Hat Simulator 2007. We're talking four-team battles, NO COSMETICS, just pure unfiltered 2008 energy.
I played the closed beta last month and guys... it hits different. The TF2 Classic site has all the deets but basically imagine TF2 if Valve never added the Mann Co store. The four-team CTF on 2Fort is absolutely unhinged - complete chaos in the best way possible.
Twenty bucks says the servers crash day one. The hype is REAL. I've already seen YouTube videos with titles like "TF2 CLASSIC KILLED TF2??" and the beta isn't even live yet lmao.
So yeah, October 13-20, clear your schedule. Between Next Fest demos and TF2 Classic, we're eating GOOD. See you in the servers!
